Registered trademark: Silk Road Certification ®

Silk Road Certification® has obtained trademark registration with the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO).

We are pleased to announce that we have formally secured our brand — on 10 October 2025, we obtained the following registrations:
• No. 019183067 — reservation of the name SILK ROAD CERTIFICATION,
• No. 019183154 — protection of the logo in black and white,
• No. 019183009 — protection of the logo in its basic (red) version.

Protection of the SRC trademark at EUIPO is not only a legal step for us, but above all a business one. It confirms the recognition and professionalism we offer in the field of certification and auditing.

The symbols visible on the certificates issued by our certification body thus gain stronger legal protection —
it is a sign of credibility and quality that we are building.

Silk Road Certification at PLASTEX 2026 in Brno

From 6 to 9 October 2026, we will meet you at PLASTEX – the International Trade Fair of Plastics and Composites in Brno, Czech Republic. Silk Road Certification will be exhibiting at this major event, which brings together companies, experts and professionals from across the plastics value chain every two years. Trader or broker? The invisible links in the recyclate supply chain

Trader, broker, warehouse and logistics intermediary: every additional link in the chain can affect the traceability of certified recycled material. We examine how a recyclate trader differs from a recyclate broker, what responsibilities these entities have under ISCC PLUS and RecyClass, and what happens to the recyclate declaration as the material changes hands.

Certified recyclate vs recyclate counted towards the SUP target – what does Commission Decision 2026/1425 change?

European Commission Implementing Decision No 2026/1425 sets out how to calculate, verify and report on the 25 per cent recycled content target for single-use PET beverage bottles under the SUP (Single-Use Plastics) Directive. That is all. It does not regulate the status of the raw material, nor does it restrict its import or use. Point 20 of the explanatory memorandum states explicitly that the import of recycled material for bottle production remains possible and does not refer to any certification scheme. Nor does it concern the PPWR targets for 2030. The methodology under Article 7 of the PPWR will be adopted separately (Article 7(8)), whilst point 32 of the explanatory memorandum merely announces that harmonisation will be ‘considered’.
